SINCE 1999

SARAH Chapter

In the mid 1990’s our twin daughters, Margie Emig and Michelle Stewart, miscarried. We have seven grandchildren waiting to meet us in heaven.  Margie named her miscarried baby “Sarah”. My husband Joe and I started praying for ways to serve the Lord in memory of these special grandchildren.

In 1997 a friend gave me the July 15, 1997 issue of “Family Circle” which included an article about Sissy Davis from Baton Rouge, LA.  She had driven a school bus for thirty years and after retirement was seeking a way to serve the Lord.  Using the sewing skills He had given her, God led her to start Threads of Love, now a national ministry.

Joe and I knew this was God’s calling for us, so I wrote Sissy and got the information. God then had me wait two years. In July of 1999, I knew it was God’s timing to begin the 36th chapter of Threads of Love. On October 1, 1999, the SARAH Chapter of Threads of Love was launched.  SARAH stands for Sewing and Reaching A Heart. Joe and I gave the first donation in memory of our grandchildren.
